Handheld Backscatter X-Ray Imager
Characteristics
The second generation of the PX1 with an acceleration voltage of 140 keV and a penetration depth of up to 8 mm of steel (capable of imaging an object behind up to 8 mm of steel).
Key Technical Features
- Uses an X-ray tube with an energy of 140 kV (PX1), providing greater penetration depth and higher contrast, and therefore a wider range of applications. The penetration depth is up to 8 mm of steel (PX1).
- Larger and more sensitive patented INFINITY detector, generating higher-quality images while also enabling higher scanning speeds.
- Ability to scan from a greater distance, making it possible to scan, for example, an entire car seat at once.
- Higher scanning speed – particularly important for vehicle inspections and similar applications.
- New unique patented shielding – reduces operator radiation exposure and increases safety. (An operator working with the PX1 or PX Ultra detector for 10 hours is exposed to the same radiation dose as during a one-hour flight at an altitude of 10,000 m.)
- More powerful computing system; the system runs on the latest Android platform, providing full cloud connectivity and easy image sharing.
- High-quality large LCD display with an 18 cm diagonal, 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution, and 700-nit brightness – high-quality images can be viewed directly on the instrument, eliminating the need to export them to an external device.
- Wide range of connectivity options – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE.
- High-quality image analysis algorithms and powerful inspection software.
- 6 hours of operation on a single battery, with very fast start-up after battery replacement.
- Integrated 8.5 MP video camera with video recording capability.
- Two integrated line lasers for indicating the scanned area and integrated dual LED lighting for operation in poor lighting conditions.
- High ruggedness: Operating temperature from −20°C to +60°C; the instrument is resistant to rain, snow, and wind.
- High safety: Complies with ANSI, ICRP, NCRP, and Euratom radiation safety regulations. The instrument incorporates multiple safety switches and indicators to prevent accidental exposure to X-rays.
- Very easy to operate: typical operator training time is 15–20 minutes.
