Additional Transmission X-Ray Panel

MTP+

Characteristics

The MTP+ is an additional transmission X-ray detector that can be used with the PX series backscatter imagers to provide transmission imaging, significantly expanding the information available to the user during an inspection. Alternatively, the MTP+ can be used as a detector for the PXT.

The additional detector can be used when there is sufficient space behind the object for positioning the detector and the nature of the object allows X-rays to pass through. The detector has its own battery and connects wirelessly to the PX1 main unit. During operation, the user scans the object with the main unit, which simultaneously records the transmission image from the additional detector. The transmission image can then be viewed on the main unit by simply switching to the second application, as shown in this video demonstrating such an inspection.

Transmission imaging and backscatter imaging are complementary, providing the user with highly comprehensive information about the scanned object. The images below demonstrate its use and the transmission image that complements the backscatter image from the PX1 detector.

Advantages of the MTP+ Detector

  • Precise imaging technology enabling transmission through up to 25 mm of steel.
  • Good suitability for field use – the detector connects wirelessly, has its own battery, and meets IP67 and MIL-STD-810G standards.
  • Modular design.
  • Lightweight and compact carbon-fiber detector.
  • Thin profile – the detector is only 16 mm thick.
