Portable FT-IR spectrometer
Characteristics
The portable FT-IR spectrometer ThreatID from US-based 908 Devices is a new and unique product that bridges the gap between laboratory instruments and handheld FT-IR spectrometers for rapid analysis in the hot zone. ThreatID was designed from the outset for use under demanding conditions. The spectrometer offers laboratory-grade performance, a rugged design, and thorough optimization for the field detection of chemical substances. The ATR accessory and gas cell can be changed quickly during operation, allowing the spectrometer to analyze gases, vapors, liquids, and solids, all in a single portable and rugged instrument.

Key Features
- Rugged construction, interface optimized for use while wearing protective equipment. IP68-rated when using the ATR accessory. Decontaminable design.
- Powered by an internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery, with battery replacement without the need to power off or interrupt operation.
- Rapid field replacement of the ATR accessory and gas cell in less than 20 seconds, with no adjustment required and automatic accessory identification.
- Gas cell optimized for rapid identification of gases and vapors, with an optical path length of 4 m.
- Identification of more than 23,000 solids and liquids.
- Identification of more than 5,600 gases and vapors, with most substances detectable at concentrations of 25–50 ppm.
- Automatic and manual mixture analysis, spectral processing, assignment of spectral peaks to functional groups, alerts for the presence of proteins (biological substances), and automatic subtraction of the water spectrum.
- Wide range of connectivity options: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and USB; wireless sharing of reports and spectra with an external PC (via Bluetooth) or over the Internet (Wi-Fi).
- Remote control and diagnostics from PCs connected to the Internet.
- Internal database of information on identified substances – Threat Assist (manufacturer’s database), NIOSH, and online search via a single icon (Google, PubChem, WISER, etc.). Information can be included in reports.
- Flexible report generation system, allowing the user to customize the appearance and content of reports.
- Online software and library upgrades when connected to the Internet.
