NEW – The new generation of affordable handheld gamma spectrometers, identiFINDER R225.
R225 replaces the previous R200 model and provides personal radiation monitoring, with the ability to locate radiation sources and identify them immediately. The identification capabilities of R225 are comparable to those of the larger identiFINDER R425, which has become the world’s best-selling handheld gamma spectrometer, following the success of its predecessor, the identiFINDER R400.
Compared with R425, the sensitivity of R225 is naturally lower due to its smaller crystal. However, its sensitivity is still significantly higher than that of other handheld devices of this type, thanks to an 18 × 18 × 18 mm cubic crystal coupled to a large-area SiPM photomultiplier.
In addition to the standard CsI(Tl) crystal material, a version with a LaBr(Ce) detector of the same size is also available. This version provides an energy resolution of better than 3.5% FWHM at 662 keV. This makes R225 the first “pocket-sized” device on the market to combine this level of spectral resolution with high sensitivity, while also being certified to IP67 and MIL-STD-810G (Salt Fog) standards.
