The Hyperspectral Imager for Remote Gas Sensing
Characteristics
HI 90 from Bruker Optics is a compact hyperspectral imaging FTIR spectrometer designed for remote, non-contact detection and identification of hazardous chemicals in real time.
The system combines FTIR spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, and advanced data processing. It not only enables the identification of a hazardous substance, but also determines its location and displays its distribution directly in the image of the monitored scene.
Key Features
- Remote and passive detection without the need for contact with the substance being detected
- Automatic identification and real-time alarm
- 360° × 180° field of view for automated area monitoring
- Hyperspectral FPA detector with 320 × 256 pixels
- Spectral range of 870–1400 cm⁻¹
- High sensitivity and very low spectral noise
- Overlay of analysis results onto the scene image for rapid source localization
- Extensive reference spectral library for TICs and CWAs
- Automatic compensation for atmospheric gases and interfering components
- Continuous automated monitoring
- Complete measurement documentation, including image, spectra, GPS position, and time
- Data transmission to a remote control station

Typical Applications
HI 90 is particularly suitable for CBRN and HAZMAT teams, fire and rescue services, industrial safety, chemical plant monitoring, and critical infrastructure protection. Thanks to its non-contact measurement principle, it enables information on a potentially hazardous cloud to be obtained before entering the affected area.
