The world's most widely deployed spectrometer for the detection of hazardous substances – the FirstDefender handheld Raman spectrometer – has been upgraded to a completely new model, the FirstDefender RM, with a further version featuring a permanently attached optical probe, the FirstDefender RMX.
FirstDefender RM
This is an upgraded version of the highly popular Ahura FirstDefender spectrometer, which became a global standard for handheld substance detection, particularly for hazardous substances. The new model is half the size, half the weight, and offers significantly faster analysis. All the advantages of the FirstDefender spectrometers have been retained, including non-contact analysis, analysis through packaging, automatic mixture analysis, and more. The database now contains more than 12,000 substances, and analysis is performed fully automatically, meaning that the operator does not need to be an expert in the field. FirstDefender RM/RMX spectrometers are used not only in security applications (military, police, customs, etc.), but also, for example, in waste analysis, rapid substance identification in industry, and geological analysis.
FirstDefender RMX
A special version is also available, equipped with a rugged probe with an armored optical cable and the ability to communicate with robots. It is primarily designed for explosive detection, but can also be used wherever access to the sample being analyzed is difficult.
